Welcome to the Highland Dancing Teachers Association of England

The Highland Dance Teachers Association of England was founded in 1973 to enable teachers to support each other and further highland dancing in England. The HDTAE has been a represented member of the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (RSOBHD) since 1979.

Some of the main goals of the HDTAE are:

to advance the art of Highland Dancing
to preserve non-competitive traditional Scottish dances
to acquaint teachers with the latest information on techniques, steps, dress code, etc
to uphold the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing codes of ethics for dance teachers and for dancers

The Highland Dancing Teachers Association of England is a community of passionate dance teachers dedicated to promoting and preserving the art of Highland dancing. We strive to provide a platform for sharing information, organizing events, and fostering a supportive network for highland dance teachers across England.
